Peace In The Midst Of The Storm

 A calmness and peace always seem to come before a storm.

Just when you think everything is ok, all is right with the world.

That is when the deep dark clouds form overhead.

The wind surges with much speed.

Hale breaks loose from the clouds,

and the vast destruction begins to lay waste everything it hits.

The storm can last for hours or for days.

There is a calmness and peace in the midst of the storm.

A place the Lord can keep you away from harm,

it is in the eye of the storm.

When all around is total chaos,

if you will remain still in the Lord's hand,

the storm will dissipate.

Once you step out in the midst of the storm,

you are blown around and beaten down.

To the point that if you do survive,

you are left very disoriented.

Are the haunting memories of life,

the storms that rage and lay waste everything in its path.

Our Lord uses storms to cleanse us.

To see if we will depend solely on him.

If we will trust only in him,

and the allowance with that faith,

to take refuge in the eye of our Lord's grace.

Some of us have storms that last for days,

but in the stillness of our faith and obedience,

the quicker God will dissipate its rage.
