Dear Father: 

I just really need to talk to someone who’s wise,

But there’s no one here I feel I can talk to just now.

I didn’t plan it this way, I had such dreams, but they seem so far away now. 

Will You hear my prayer and just stay with me awhile?  I need for you to listen. 

You helped Joseph when his brothers left him in a pit, You were there!

You gave him courage to run the other way later, when Mrs. Potiphar tried to seduce him. Even when he got put in jail for something he didn’t do, You saw and you delivered him, gave him favor with Pharaoh and he became 2^nd in Egypt, only behind Pharaoh. So, I KNOW You can help me!  He went from a pit to the palace.  You gave him a dream and You brought it to pass!

He really didn’t have a clue how You were going to make the dream come to pass when he started out. 

I need Your dream for my life; I need You to make it come to pass.  I need You to help me escape from the pit of discouragement.  I need You to deliver me from the temptation to take shortcuts that are sin.  I need You to cause me to find favor and I need You to give me the guidance to go Your direction to fulfill Your purpose for my life.  That’s what I want, Lord, Your purpose fulfilled; I don’t want to do it my way. 

Dear Lord, will you take my sin, and forgive me; will You take my discouragement and give me Your courage, will You take my past and turn it to your glory?  Will you forgive me for going my own way and messing up?  Somehow, Lord, please take my failures and make something good out of it all. 

I’m asking in Jesus’ Name for You to hear my prayer.  I’m just going to sit here and be quiet for a while; will You just BE here with me?  Thank you so much Heavenly Father.
