Not Offended
You
ask, “Why don’t people love me when I
love them so much?” They
don’t love me when I
love them either. When you are
most like me you
will love them anyway.
You remember how I taught you to let the
offense pass through you to me
and then to let my
love pass through you to them.
Where there is no need, there is no offense.
For this the flesh has to die.
A dead man cannot
be offended. Only spirit can
love like this. Only
the spirit can forgive.
I
have died. You can reckon yourself dead
with me. But don’t stop there
— you can reckon
yourself alive with me in the
spirit.
Then I can trust you with my hurting ones.
